Hickman Charges to Top Ten in SAS at Smoky Mountain

Riley Hickman resumed competition with the Southern All Star (SAS) Racing Series on Friday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee).
The $4,000-to-win program drew a field of twenty-nine entries, and with the top ten qualifiers locking into the 40-lap finale Hickman fell just short of the mark. As a result he would have to run a b-main to earn a transfer position into the main event. After racing his way into the feature via b-main action, Riley drove his #R1 BIF Motorsports/Hickman Manufacturing Company Super Late Model to a solid ninth place finish.

On Sunday night, Hickman entered the annual Rome Rumble at Rome International Speedway (Rome, Georgia). With twenty-six entries registering for battle, Riley posted the overall fastest lap in time trials to lock into the pole position for the $3,000-to-win main event. After being forced to the tail by his initial spin early in the race, Hickam rallied back through the field to recover a tenth place finish in the final rundown.
