Hickman Wins in Crate at Smoky Mountain

Competing in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event, Riley Hickman returned to Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) on Friday night to a field of thirty-four cars. Laying down the 9th fastest time in his group, Riley transferred into the B-Main after placing 6th in his heat. Scoring a 3rd place finish in his consolation event, Hickman was slated to start 21st for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Falling two positions, Riley Hickman retired a 21st place outing in the 50-lap affair.

The following night brought Hickman to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) competing in both the Super and Crate Late Model divisions. Battling in a field of thirty-four cars, Riley earned the 7th place starting spot for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Falling back in the Ultimate Super Late Model Series event, Hickman retired a 17th place outing.

During the same night in his Crate Late Model, Riley timed in fastest in a field of twenty-four entries. Cruising to a heat race victory, Hickman earned the pole position starting spot for the A-Main. Reeling in his sixth win of the season, Riley was trailed by Jenson Ford, Jake Teague, Forrest Trent, and Cory Hedgecock across the finish line. Collecting his third Crate win of the season, Riley Hickman was awarded a $2,500 payday for his United Crate Racing Alliance (UCRA) sanctioned win. (Brian McCleod Photo)
